Air Knife with Blower

• Drying washed produce or components prior to packaging or further processing.
• Cooling products such as baked goods, confectionery, or processed meats after cooking or heating.
• Removing excess coatings, dust, or debris from surfaces in manufacturing lines.
• Blowing off water from bottles, cans, or containers post-wash.
• Creating an air barrier for environmental separation or contamination control.

Typical air velocity

Commonly ranges from 100 to 200 m/s at the knife exit, depending on blower power.

Air knife length

For this class of equipment, lengths typically range from 300mm to 1500mm, with 600mm being a common size for conveyor integration.

Blower motor power

Units of this type commonly feature motors from 2.2 kW to 11 kW, influencing air volume and pressure.

Power supply

Typically 3-phase industrial supply, 400V, 50Hz in the UK.

Construction material

Air knives are usually stainless steel for hygiene and corrosion resistance; blowers often feature painted steel or aluminium housings.

Mounting

Often supplied with adjustable stands or brackets for integration over conveyor lines or processing areas.

• What is an air knife with blower used for?

It is primarily used for non-contact drying, cooling, or debris removal from product surfaces using a high-velocity, laminar sheet of air generated by a centrifugal or regenerative blower.

• Can this unit be used for heating applications?

• What maintenance is typically required for an air knife system?

• Is this unit suitable for food processing environments?

• How is the air knife positioned relative to the product?

Heating and drying equipment for food processing is valued for consistent performance and long operational life when properly maintained. Buyers typically prioritise units with robust construction, reliable temperature controls, and documented maintenance history. Common strengths include energy efficiency and compatibility with existing production lines. When purchasing used models, inspectors should verify heating elements function reliably, check for corrosion or wear affecting interior chambers, and confirm all temperature gauges read accurately. Equipment from reputable manufacturers generally commands confidence in the second-hand market.
