Haith Continuous Peeler

• Processing potatoes and other root vegetables in large-scale food production.
• Preparing vegetables for further processing such as chipping, dicing, or mashing.
• Use in ready-meal factories requiring high throughput of peeled produce.
• Suitable for snack food manufacturers processing potatoes for crisps or fries.

Typical capacity

For this class of equipment, capacities commonly range from 1,000 kg/hr to over 10,000 kg/hr, depending on model and product.

Power supply

Units of this type typically require a 3-phase industrial electrical supply, commonly 400V, 50Hz.

Peeling mechanism

Haith continuous peelers typically utilise abrasive rollers or carborundum-lined drums for efficient skin removal.

Water consumption

Continuous peelers require a consistent water supply for washing and waste removal during operation; consumption varies by model.

Footprint

The physical footprint for a continuous peeler can vary significantly, but buyers should anticipate a substantial floor area for the machine and access.

Suitable feed size

This equipment is designed to handle a range of product sizes; however, specific models may have optimal input dimensions for best performance.

• What types of vegetables can this peeler process?

Haith continuous peelers are primarily designed for root vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, and parsnips, but can often be adapted for others depending on the abrasive configuration.

• How is the peeling intensity controlled?

• What are the typical maintenance requirements for a continuous peeler?

• Can this peeler handle different product sizes effectively?

• What are the advantages of a continuous peeler over a batch peeler?

Washers and peelers are considered reliable workhorses in food processing facilities. Buyers typically value models offering consistent performance and easy cleaning. When purchasing used equipment, inspectors commonly assess drum condition, motor functionality, and wear on rotating components. Industry sentiment favours machines with stainless steel construction for durability and hygiene compliance. Straightforward mechanical design generally means lower maintenance costs compared to more complex processing equipment. Availability of replacement parts remains an important consideration for long-term operation.
