Markem Imaje - Imaje e1000 S8

• Marking and coding products in packaging lines.
• Applying batch codes, date codes, and serial numbers to various substrates.
• Printing logos, barcodes, and other variable data onto products.
• Suitable for food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and industrial product identification.

Typical throughput

Varies significantly based on print resolution and line speed; typically capable of high-speed coding for production lines.

Print heads

Units of this type commonly feature single or dual print heads for increased coding flexibility or throughput.

Power supply

Typically single-phase, 50-60Hz, suitable for standard industrial electrical supplies.

Ink type

Continuous Inkjet (CIJ) technology, commonly using solvent-based inks for fast drying and good adhesion on various materials.

Substrate compatibility

Capable of printing on a wide range of materials including plastic, glass, metal, and cardboard.

Connectivity

Often includes basic I/O for integration with production lines and external sensors.

• What is Continuous Inkjet (CIJ) technology?

CIJ technology uses a continuous stream of electrically charged ink droplets, deflecting them to form characters on a product. It is known for high-speed printing and versatility on various surfaces.

• Can these printers handle different types of packaging?

• What kind of maintenance is typically required for a used CIJ printer?

• Are spare parts and consumables readily available for older Imaje models?

• What is the typical lifespan of a CIJ printer?

Used labeling machines remain reliable workhorses in food processing operations. Buyers typically prioritise machines with proven track records from established manufacturers and those requiring minimal tooling changeover. Key considerations include label application accuracy, speed capabilities, and spare parts availability. Industry sentiment favours machines in good mechanical condition with clear maintenance histories. Common strengths noted include straightforward operation, robust construction, and adaptability to various label formats and container types. Purchasing decisions often centre on total cost of ownership and compatibility with existing production lines.
