Kronen Immersion Tank with Conveyor

• Washing delicate leafy greens and herbs in large volumes.
• Soaking root vegetables to loosen soil prior to further processing.
• Rinsing cut fruits and vegetables to remove surface contaminants.
• Preparing produce for blanching or other thermal treatments.

Typical capacity

For this class of equipment, throughput can typically range from 500 kg/hr to over 2000 kg/hr, depending on product density and tank volume.

Power supply

Units of this type commonly require a 3-phase electrical supply, typically 400V, 50Hz.

Construction material

Immersion tanks and conveyors are typically constructed from food-grade stainless steel (e.g., AISI 304 or 316) for hygiene and durability.

Water management

Many units feature integrated filtration systems and water recirculation to minimise consumption.

Conveyor type

Commonly, a modular plastic belt or stainless steel mesh conveyor is used to transport product through the tank.

Footprint

The overall footprint for a unit of this design can typically range from 3 to 6 metres in length, with widths between 1 and 2 metres.

• What kind of products is this immersion tank suitable for?

This type of immersion tank with a conveyor is generally suitable for a wide range of produce, including delicate items like salads and herbs, as well as firmer vegetables.

• How is the water quality maintained in the tank?

• Can this unit be integrated into an existing processing line?

• What are the typical maintenance requirements?

• Is this unit suitable for organic produce?

Washers and peelers are considered reliable workhorses in food processing facilities. Buyers typically value models offering consistent performance and easy cleaning. When purchasing used equipment, inspectors commonly assess drum condition, motor functionality, and wear on rotating components. Industry sentiment favours machines with stainless steel construction for durability and hygiene compliance. Straightforward mechanical design generally means lower maintenance costs compared to more complex processing equipment. Availability of replacement parts remains an important consideration for long-term operation.
