Merck Samplicity G2 Filtration System

• Sample preparation for High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC).
• Clarification of analytical samples in laboratory environments.
• Removal of particulates from samples prior to spectroscopic analysis.
• Preparation of samples for dissolution testing in pharmaceutical settings.

Typical throughput

Units of this type are designed for rapid processing of multiple samples, commonly handling 96-well plate formats.

Power supply

Typically operates on standard laboratory mains power, commonly 230V, 50Hz in the UK.

Filtration method

Utilises vacuum or positive pressure for filtration, depending on the specific module configuration.

Filter media compatibility

Generally compatible with a range of syringe filter types and plate-based filter units, typically 0.22 µm or 0.45 µm pore sizes.

Footprint

For this class of equipment, the footprint is typically designed for benchtop use, requiring moderate laboratory space.

Materials of construction

Commonly constructed from laboratory-grade plastics and metals, suitable for chemical resistance.

• What types of samples can this system process?

This system is generally suitable for aqueous and organic solvent-based samples commonly encountered in analytical chemistry and pharmaceutical laboratories.

• Is this unit supplied with consumables?

• What maintenance is required for a system like this?

• Can this system be integrated with other lab equipment?

• What are the benefits of using a dedicated filtration system over manual methods?

Laboratory filtration systems are valued for reliability and durability, making them suitable for used purchase when sourced carefully. Buyers typically prioritise checking membrane and filter condition, as replacement costs can be significant. Industry sentiment favours systems from established manufacturers known for consistent performance. Common strengths include robust construction, compatibility with various applications, and availability of spare parts. When assessing used units, verifying maintenance history and operational specifications remains essential for ensuring continued performance in biotech and pharmaceutical environments.
