Mouvex SLC Eccentric disc pump

• Transferring shear-sensitive liquids and viscous products such as yoghurts, creams, and sauces.
• Handling fruit preparations, jams, and confectionery fillings with minimal product degradation.
• Metering and dosing applications in food production lines requiring precise flow control.
• Unloading and loading of tankers and storage vessels for various food ingredients.

Typical capacity

For this class of Mouvex SLC pump, capacities typically range from a few hundred litres per hour up to approximately 30 m³/hr, depending on the specific model and application.

Power supply

Units of this type commonly operate on a 3-phase electrical supply, with motor power typically ranging from 0.75 kW to 11 kW.

Materials of construction

Process-contact parts are typically constructed from 316L stainless steel, suitable for food-grade applications and easy cleaning.

Operating principle

Eccentric disc pumps operate using a rotating eccentric disc within a pump chamber, providing a positive displacement action that is gentle on products.

Mobility

Being mounted on a mobile skid, this unit offers flexibility for use in various locations within a processing facility.

Control

The inclusion of a control panel and variable speed drive allows for precise flow rate adjustment and integration into automated systems.

• What are the main advantages of an eccentric disc pump for food processing?

Eccentric disc pumps are known for their gentle product handling, low shear, and ability to pump highly viscous products with minimal pulsation. They also offer good suction capabilities.

• Is this pump suitable for CIP (Clean-in-Place) systems?

• What kind of maintenance is typically required for an eccentric disc pump?

• Can this pump handle products with small particulates?

• What is the benefit of a variable speed drive on a pump like this?

Rotary vane pumps are valued in labs, biotech and pharma for reliable, consistent fluid transfer across diverse applications. Buyers typically appreciate their compact design, low noise operation and ability to handle both gases and liquids. When purchasing used units, inspect vane condition, seal integrity and overall wear patterns. Industry sentiment favours their longevity and cost effectiveness compared to alternatives. Common strengths include straightforward maintenance requirements and stable performance across varying viscosities and temperatures.
