PM - PPM 3m Continuous Peeler

• Peeling root vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, and parsnips in preparation for further processing.
• Removing skins from fruits like apples or pears in large-scale food production.
• Pre-processing steps for frozen food lines, ready meals, and canning operations.
• Use in snack food production for preparing raw materials for chipping or dicing.

Typical capacity

For this class of equipment, throughput can typically range from 1,000 kg/hour to over 5,000 kg/hour, depending on product type and desired peel depth.

Power supply

Commonly found on units of this type, a 3-phase electrical supply, typically 400V, 50Hz, is required.

Footprint

A 3-meter continuous peeler will typically require a floor space of approximately 3.5m to 4.5m in length, plus space for access and ancillary equipment.

Roller configuration

This unit has 8 rollers. Continuous peelers commonly feature abrasive or knife rollers, with the number varying to suit capacity and product requirements.

Construction material

Equipment of this nature is typically constructed from stainless steel for hygiene and durability in food processing environments.

Water consumption

Continuous peelers typically require a consistent water supply for washing and waste removal, with consumption varying based on product and operation settings.

• What type of products is this peeler suitable for?

Continuous peelers are generally suitable for a wide range of root vegetables and some fruits. The effectiveness depends on the product's skin type and the peeler's roller configuration.

• How is the peel depth controlled?

• What maintenance is typically required for a continuous peeler?

• Can this peeler handle different sizes of produce?

• What are the typical waste disposal considerations?

Washers and peelers are considered reliable workhorses in food processing facilities. Buyers typically value models offering consistent performance and easy cleaning. When purchasing used equipment, inspectors commonly assess drum condition, motor functionality, and wear on rotating components. Industry sentiment favours machines with stainless steel construction for durability and hygiene compliance. Straightforward mechanical design generally means lower maintenance costs compared to more complex processing equipment. Availability of replacement parts remains an important consideration for long-term operation.
