Probat BRZ4

• Sample roasting for quality control and blend development in coffee processing.
• Small-batch roasting for specialty coffee shops and micro-roasteries.
• Experimental roasting for new bean varieties and roast profiles.
• Educational purposes in coffee training centres.

Typical capacity

For this class of equipment, each barrel typically handles 50-200g of green coffee per batch.

Power supply

Units of this type commonly require single-phase 230V, 50Hz electrical supply for controls and motors, alongside a natural gas connection for heating.

Heating method

Gas-fired, typically natural gas, providing precise temperature control for roasting.

Number of barrels

As indicated by 'BRZ4', this model features four independent roasting barrels, allowing for simultaneous sample roasting.

Footprint

Sample roasters are generally compact, suitable for laboratory or small production environments. Exact dimensions should be confirmed with the seller.

Control system

Typically features manual controls for gas flow and drum speed, with integrated temperature readouts for each barrel.

• What is the primary benefit of a multi-barrel sample roaster?

A multi-barrel sample roaster allows for the simultaneous roasting of multiple small batches, which is highly efficient for comparing different coffee samples or experimenting with various roast profiles.

• Is this type of roaster suitable for production?

• What maintenance is typically required for a gas sample roaster?

• Can this roaster be converted to LPG?

• What safety considerations are important for operating a gas roaster?

Used roasters are valued for their durability and cost effectiveness in food processing operations. Buyers typically prioritise even heat distribution, temperature control consistency, and robust construction when selecting secondhand units. Industry sentiment favours roasters from established manufacturers known for reliable performance. Key considerations include maintenance history, heating element condition, and capacity matching operational requirements. Well-maintained roasters often deliver dependable service across coffee roasting, nut processing, and other food applications, making them sound investments for processors seeking to minimise capital expenditure.
