Safety Light Curtain

• Protecting personnel from moving parts on industrial machinery such as presses, robots, and assembly lines.
• Creating virtual safety barriers around hazardous areas in manufacturing and processing plants.
• Ensuring operator safety during machine loading and unloading operations.
• Preventing access to dangerous zones when machine guards are open or removed for maintenance.

Protection Height

Typically ranges from 300mm to 1800mm, depending on the required coverage for the hazard.

Operating Range

Commonly between 0.5m and 15m, allowing for flexibility in machine guarding distances.

Resolution

Typically 14mm for finger protection, 30mm for hand protection, and 50mm or more for body detection.

Safety Category

Units for this class of equipment commonly meet EN ISO 13849-1 Performance Level 'd' or 'e', or IEC 61508 SIL 2 or SIL 3.

Response Time

Generally very fast, often less than 20ms, to ensure rapid machine shutdown upon interruption.

Power Supply

Typically 24V DC, which is standard for industrial control systems.

Output Type

Commonly features two OSSD (Output Signal Switching Device) outputs for direct connection to safety relays or PLCs.

• What is a safety light curtain?

A safety light curtain is an optoelectronic presence-sensing device that creates a 'curtain' of infrared light beams. If an object or person breaks these beams, the device sends a stop signal to the protected machine, preventing injury.

Centrifuge rotors, buckets and accessories hold strong reputations for reliability and durability when purchased used. Buyers typically value compatibility verification with specific centrifuge models before purchase, as mismatched components compromise performance and safety. Industry users commonly praise the robustness of quality rotor materials and balanced construction. When sourcing used examples, inspecting for corrosion, wear patterns and proper calibration certification proves essential. Established manufacturers' products tend to command buyer confidence due to consistent build standards and longer operational lifespans across demanding laboratory and pharmaceutical applications.
