LOMA Systems - Used 2022 LOMA (IQ3) Systems Metal Detector

• Detecting metallic contaminants in packaged food products.
• Ensuring product safety and compliance in confectionery and bakery lines.
• Inspection of raw ingredients prior to processing.
• Quality control for pharmaceuticals and non-food items.
• Protecting downstream processing equipment from metal damage.

Typical throughput

For this class of equipment, throughput can typically range from 20 to over 100 products per minute, depending on product size and line speed.

Power supply

Units of this type commonly require a single-phase 230V AC supply, with a frequency of 50/60Hz.

Construction material

LOMA IQ3 systems typically feature a heavy-duty stainless steel chassis, suitable for washdown environments.

Detection sensitivity

Sensitivity for ferrous, non-ferrous, and stainless steel contaminants is commonly in the sub-millimetre range, varying with aperture size and product effect.

Operating environment

These units are typically designed for industrial food processing environments, often with an IP65 rating for the search head.

Control interface

Modern LOMA IQ3 systems commonly feature a user-friendly touchscreen interface for setup and operation.

• What types of metal can this detector identify?

LOMA IQ3 metal detectors are designed to detect ferrous, non-ferrous, and stainless steel contaminants. The exact sensitivity depends on the product and aperture size.

• Is this unit suitable for wet or washdown environments?

• Can this metal detector be integrated into an existing production line?

• What maintenance is typically required for a LOMA IQ3 metal detector?

• What is 'auto-learn capability'?

Metal detectors for food processing remain reliable workhorses in quality control operations. Buyers typically value their durability and consistent contamination detection capability. When purchasing used units, inspecting calibration history and sensitivity settings proves essential. Industry sentiment favours machines with straightforward maintenance records and minimal downtime. Common strengths include robust construction, straightforward operation, and cost-effectiveness compared to new equipment. Prospective buyers should verify functional testing documentation and assess integration compatibility with existing production lines.
