Limas - Used Limas Swede Peeler

• Processing swede and other root vegetables for ready meal production.
• Preparing potatoes for chipping or further processing in food manufacturing.
• Peeling various root crops for canning or freezing operations.
• Use in large-scale catering facilities requiring high-volume vegetable preparation.

Typical capacity

For this class of equipment, capacities commonly range from 500 kg/hr to 2000 kg/hr, depending on the specific model and product.

Power supply

Units of this type typically require a 3-phase industrial power supply, commonly 400V, 50Hz.

Peeling method

Limas peelers commonly utilise an abrasive peeling method, suitable for robust root vegetables.

Construction material

The main contact parts are typically constructed from stainless steel for hygiene and durability in food processing environments.

Water consumption

These machines typically require a continuous water supply for washing and waste removal during operation.

Suitable feed size

Units are generally designed to accommodate a range of root vegetable sizes, typically up to 150-200mm in diameter.

• What maintenance is typically required for a used Limas peeler?

Routine maintenance commonly involves checking and replacing abrasive liners, inspecting drive belts and bearings, and ensuring all safety guards are in place and functional. Regular cleaning is also essential.

• Can this peeler handle different types of root vegetables?

• What footprint does a peeler of this type typically have?

• Are spare parts readily available for Limas peelers?

• What is the typical yield percentage for a peeler like this?

Washers and peelers are considered reliable workhorses in food processing facilities. Buyers typically value models offering consistent performance and easy cleaning. When purchasing used equipment, inspectors commonly assess drum condition, motor functionality, and wear on rotating components. Industry sentiment favours machines with stainless steel construction for durability and hygiene compliance. Straightforward mechanical design generally means lower maintenance costs compared to more complex processing equipment. Availability of replacement parts remains an important consideration for long-term operation.
