WFPE Ltd - Volumetric Filler

• Accurate dispensing of free-flowing granular products such as rice, pulses, and seeds.
• Portioning of dry pet food and animal feed.
• Filling of certain confectionery items like sweets or nuts.
• Packaging of non-food granular products such as detergents or chemical granules.

Typical capacity

Volumetric fillers of this class typically handle fill volumes from a few grams up to several kilograms, depending on the cup size and product density.

Power supply

Commonly found on units of this type is a single-phase 230V, 50Hz electrical supply, though some larger or more automated versions may require three-phase.

Throughput

Throughput for this class of equipment typically ranges from 10 to 60 fills per minute, influenced by product characteristics, fill volume, and operator interaction.

Materials of construction

Product contact parts are commonly made from food-grade stainless steel (e.g., 304 or 316) to ensure hygiene and corrosion resistance.

Footprint

A typical standalone volumetric filler of this type might require a footprint of approximately 1m x 1m, plus space for product infeed and outfeed.

Filling accuracy

Volumetric fillers are known for good accuracy, typically within +/- 1-3% by volume, depending on product consistency and machine calibration.

• What types of products are best suited for a volumetric filler?

Volumetric fillers are ideal for free-flowing, granular, or powdered products that have a consistent bulk density, such as rice, sugar, seeds, and certain spices.

• Can this machine handle different fill volumes?

• What maintenance is typically required for a volumetric filler?

• Is this machine suitable for dusty products?

• What are the advantages of a volumetric filler over a weigh filler?

Filling machines remain sought-after on the secondhand market due to their durability and long operational lifespan. Buyers typically value models from established manufacturers known for robust construction. When purchasing used units, inspectors should verify seal integrity, calibration accuracy, and maintenance history, as these directly affect product consistency and line efficiency. Common strengths include straightforward mechanical design facilitating repairs and adaptability to different container sizes. Reliability and minimal downtime are frequently cited priorities among processors seeking cost-effective production solutions.
