Hettich Mikro 200R Centrifuge

• Separation of biological samples such as blood, urine, and cell cultures in clinical laboratories.
• Pelleting of DNA, RNA, and proteins in molecular biology and biochemistry research.
• Preparation of samples for analytical techniques like PCR, chromatography, and spectroscopy.
• Processing of small-volume samples in pharmaceutical development and quality control.
• Microfiltration and concentration tasks in biotechnology and life science research.

Typical capacity

Commonly accommodates microcentrifuge tubes (e.g., 0.2ml, 0.5ml, 1.5ml, 2.0ml) with rotor options for up to 24 tubes.

Maximum RCF

Units of this class typically achieve relative centrifugal forces (RCF) in the range of 20,000 to 23,000 x g.

Maximum RPM

Typical maximum speeds are around 13,000 to 15,000 revolutions per minute (RPM).

Temperature range

As a refrigerated model, it typically maintains temperatures from -9°C to +40°C, crucial for heat-sensitive samples.

Power supply

Commonly operates on standard laboratory power, typically 230V, 50/60Hz for the UK market.

Footprint

Benchtop refrigerated centrifuges like this typically have a compact footprint, suitable for laboratory benches.

• What types of rotors are compatible with the Mikro 200R?

The Hettich Mikro 200R typically uses angle rotors designed for microcentrifuge tubes. Buyers should confirm the specific rotor included or compatible with this unit.

• Is this unit suitable for temperature-sensitive samples?

• What maintenance is typically required for a used centrifuge?

• What safety features are commonly found on this model?

• Can this centrifuge be used for clinical diagnostic applications?

Centrifuges are valued across laboratories and biotech facilities for reliable sample separation. Buyers typically prioritise rotor compatibility, temperature stability in refrigerated models, and ease of maintenance when purchasing used units. Industry sentiment reflects appreciation for durable construction and consistent performance. Key considerations include verifying motor condition, checking calibration history, and confirming availability of compatible rotors. Well-maintained examples offer strong value and longevity, though wear on seals and bearings warrants inspection. Speed range and capacity alignment with intended applications remains important for operational efficiency.
