IKA C-MAG HS 7 Package Magnetic Stirrers

• Chemical synthesis and reactions requiring controlled heating and stirring.
• Biological sample preparation, such as media dissolution and cell culture mixing.
• Quality control and analytical testing in various laboratory environments.
• Titration procedures and viscosity measurements.
• Dissolving solids into liquids for solution preparation.

Typical stirring volume

For this class of equipment, units commonly handle stirring volumes up to 10-20 litres.

Heating plate material

Units of this type commonly feature a ceramic heating plate, offering good chemical resistance and even heat distribution.

Temperature range

Typically, the heating plate can reach temperatures up to 500-550°C, with precise temperature control.

Stirring speed range

Commonly, stirring speeds range from 100 to 1500 rpm, allowing for varied mixing intensities.

Power supply

Units are typically powered by a standard single-phase electrical supply, commonly 230V, 50/60Hz for the UK market.

Safety features

For this model, integrated safety features often include a fixed safety circuit of 550°C and a hot surface indicator.

• What is the benefit of a ceramic hotplate?

Ceramic hotplates offer excellent chemical resistance, are easy to clean, and provide uniform heat distribution across the stirring surface. This ensures consistent heating of samples.

• Can this stirrer be used for unattended operation?

• What kind of stirring bars are compatible?

• Is external temperature control possible?

• What maintenance is typically required for a magnetic stirrer?

Lab mixers and stirrers hold strong reputations for reliability and durability. Buyers typically prioritise motor condition, speed range suitability, and vessel compatibility when purchasing used units. The equipment category is valued for consistent performance across research and production settings. Key strengths include robust construction, straightforward maintenance, and long operational lifespans. Corrosion resistance of wetted parts merits careful inspection. These devices remain dependable workhorses in pharmaceutical, biotech, and laboratory environments, offering solid value when sourced from reputable sellers with clear service histories.
