Insect-a-Clear Fly Light

• Used in food preparation areas to control flying insects.
• Commonly deployed in packaging zones to maintain hygiene standards.
• Suitable for use in storage facilities for raw ingredients or finished products.
• Often found in dining areas or staff canteens within food processing plants.

Typical coverage area

Units of this type commonly cover areas ranging from 50 to 150 square metres, depending on model and design.

Insect capture method

This class of equipment typically uses UV-A light to attract insects, which are then either zapped by an electrified grid or trapped on a glue board.

Power supply

Commonly operates on standard UK single-phase power, typically 230V, 50Hz.

Lamp type

Typically uses one or more UV-A fluorescent tubes, often shatterproof for food safety applications.

Mounting options

Units are commonly designed for wall mounting, ceiling suspension, or freestanding placement.

Construction material

Housing is typically constructed from robust materials such as stainless steel, ABS plastic, or coated steel.

• What is the difference between a zapper and a glue board fly trap?

Zappers use an electrified grid to kill insects on contact, often resulting in a 'zapping' sound. Glue board traps use sticky boards to capture insects silently, which can be preferable in certain environments.

• Are these units suitable for outdoor use?

• What maintenance is typically required for this equipment?

• Do these units comply with food safety regulations?

Access control and production support systems are valued for their role in maintaining facility security, hygiene compliance, and operational efficiency. Buyers typically prioritise units with robust construction, clear audit trails, and compatibility with existing infrastructure. When purchasing used equipment, inspectors should verify electronic components function reliably, examine wear on access mechanisms, and confirm software licensing remains valid. Industry sentiment favours systems demonstrating consistent performance records and straightforward maintenance requirements, particularly those serving food safety standards and minimising production downtime.
