LOMA Systems

• Ensuring product weight accuracy in food packaging lines.
• Detecting metallic contaminants in packaged goods to meet safety standards.
• Verifying fill levels and preventing under/overweight products.
• Integrating into automated production lines for quality control.

Typical throughput

For this class of equipment, throughput can typically range from 60 to 300 packs per minute, depending on product size and weight.

Power supply

Units of this type commonly require a 230V, single-phase, 50Hz electrical supply.

Footprint

A combi unit typically requires a linear footprint of approximately 1.5 to 2.5 metres, plus space for access and reject bins.

Weighing accuracy

Checkweighers in this category commonly offer accuracy within +/- 0.5g to +/- 2g, depending on product weight and speed.

Metal detection sensitivity

For this class of equipment, metal detectors typically detect ferrous, non-ferrous, and stainless steel contaminants at varying sensitivities, often down to 0.5mm for ferrous materials.

Belt width

Combi units commonly feature belt widths ranging from 200mm to 400mm to accommodate various product sizes.

• What is a 'combi unit'?

A combi unit integrates two or more quality control functions, such as a checkweigher and a metal detector, into a single compact machine. This saves space and streamlines the production line.

• What kind of products can this unit handle?

• What does 'right to left' mean for the product flow?

• Is the metal detector's year of manufacture (1993) a concern?

• What is a 'push-arm reject system'?

Checkweighers are valued in food processing for reliable weight verification and compliance support. Buyers typically prioritise accuracy, speed, and ease of integration with existing production lines. When purchasing used units, inspecting calibration history, mechanical condition, and software functionality proves important. Industry sentiment favours models offering consistent performance, straightforward maintenance, and robust build quality. Durable construction and proven track records across multiple production environments remain key considerations for buyers assessing secondhand equipment.
