Are these buckets compatible with other centrifuge rotors?

No, these buckets are specifically designed for the Thermo Scientific TX-1000 swinging bucket rotor body (part number 75003017) and are not interchangeable with other rotor models.

Do these buckets come with adapters for different tube sizes?

This listing is for the buckets and lids only. Adapters for various tube and bottle sizes are typically sold separately and must be acquired to suit specific sample volumes.

What maintenance is required for these centrifuge buckets?

Regular cleaning and inspection for signs of wear, cracks, or corrosion are essential. Always follow the manufacturer's guidelines for cleaning, sterilisation, and inspection to ensure safe operation and longevity.

Can these buckets be autoclaved?

Many centrifuge buckets of this type, particularly those made from certain polymers or stainless steel, are autoclavable. Buyers should confirm the specific material and manufacturer's recommendations for sterilisation with the seller.

What is the typical lifespan of centrifuge buckets?

The lifespan depends on usage frequency, sample types, and adherence to maintenance protocols. Regular inspection for fatigue and damage is crucial, and buckets should be replaced if any integrity issues are identified.

Centrifuge rotors, buckets and accessories are essential consumables in laboratory and biotech settings. Buyers typically prioritise compatibility with existing centrifuge models and material condition when purchasing used units. Industry sentiment favours rotors with clear maintenance histories and minimal corrosion. Key strengths include longevity when properly maintained and significant cost savings versus new equipment. When buying used, inspectors should verify rotor balance specifications, check for wear on bearing surfaces, and confirm compatibility with specific sample tube sizes and centrifuge protocols.
