MEYN Air chill

• Rapid cooling of poultry carcasses post-evisceration to inhibit bacterial growth and extend shelf life.
• Achieving target core temperatures for poultry products prior to further processing or packaging.
• Maintaining product quality and yield by controlling moisture loss during the chilling process.
• Integration into automated poultry processing lines for continuous throughput.

Typical capacity

For this class of equipment, throughput can range from several thousand to tens of thousands of birds per hour, depending on the system's length and design.

Power supply

Commonly, industrial air chill systems require a robust three-phase electrical supply, typically 400V, 50Hz, with significant power draw for fans and refrigeration units.

Refrigeration medium

Units of this type typically utilise ammonia (NH3) or other industrial refrigerants in conjunction with large evaporators.

Chilling method

This system employs forced cold air circulation to cool carcasses suspended on an overhead conveyor system.

Chain length

The stated 4500m of chain indicates a substantial chilling capacity, suitable for high-volume operations.

Construction materials

Components in contact with food products or within the chilling environment are typically constructed from stainless steel for hygiene and durability.

• What is included in '4500 m of air chilling chain - shackles - trolleys - T-track'?

This typically refers to the complete mechanical conveyor system within the air chill tunnel, including the overhead track (T-track), the chain that runs along it, and the shackles and trolleys from which poultry carcasses are suspended.

Chillers and recirculating coolers hold strong reputation in laboratory and biotech sectors for temperature stability and process reliability. Buyers typically prioritise checking refrigeration system condition, pump functionality, and temperature control accuracy when purchasing used units. Industry sentiment favours models with robust construction and established service records. Common strengths include consistent cooling performance, energy efficiency relative to age, and durability when properly maintained. Verification of calibration history and cooling capacity specifications remains essential before purchase to ensure suitability for sensitive applications.
