What is an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) used for?

A UPS provides emergency power to a load when the input power source or mains power fails. It also conditions the power supply, protecting connected equipment from surges, sags, and other electrical disturbances.

What is 'online double-conversion' technology?

Online double-conversion UPS systems provide the highest level of power protection. They continuously convert incoming AC power to DC to charge batteries, then convert it back to AC, ensuring a clean and stable output regardless of input fluctuations.

Are the batteries included with used UPS systems reliable?

While batteries are included with this unit, their remaining lifespan can vary significantly in used equipment. Buyers should factor in potential battery replacement costs or testing upon installation.

What kind of maintenance does a UPS system require?

Regular maintenance for a UPS typically involves battery testing and replacement, fan checks, capacitor inspections, and environmental monitoring. This ensures optimal performance and longevity.

Can this UPS be installed outdoors?

Industrial UPS systems like the Galaxy 5000 are typically designed for indoor installation in controlled environments to protect sensitive electronic components and batteries from extreme temperatures and moisture.
