Avery Berkel Floor Scales

• Weighing large cuts of meat or bulk ingredients in food processing.
• Measuring incoming and outgoing goods in logistics and warehousing.
• Determining accurate weights for industrial components or waste materials.
• Use in agricultural settings for sacks of produce or feed.

Typical capacity

For this class of equipment, capacities commonly range from 150 kg to 1000 kg, sometimes higher.

Platform size

Common platform dimensions for floor scales are typically between 800mm x 800mm and 1500mm x 1500mm.

Power supply

Most units operate on mains electricity (230V, 50Hz, UK standard) or via an internal rechargeable battery for portability.

Construction material

Typically constructed from painted mild steel or stainless steel, with stainless steel being preferred for washdown environments.

Display type

Units commonly feature a digital display, often with an external indicator for ease of reading.

Connectivity

Some models may offer basic data output options, such as RS-232, for connection to printers or PCs.

• What is the typical accuracy of used floor scales?

Accuracy for industrial floor scales is generally within +/- 0.1% of the weighed load. Buyers should confirm calibration status and accuracy with the seller.

• Can these scales be used in a wet environment?

• Is calibration required for used scales?

• What maintenance do floor scales typically require?

• What does 'with hanging device' mean?

Precision and portable balances are valued for their accuracy and reliability across laboratory and pharmaceutical settings. Buyers typically seek models with proven calibration stability and minimal drift over time. When purchasing used equipment, industry practice emphasises checking calibration certificates, verifying display functionality, and confirming availability of replacement parts. These instruments are generally regarded as durable workhorses that perform well if properly maintained. Key strengths include repeatability, compact design for space-constrained labs, and compatibility with existing analytical workflows.
