Comarme Gem52 Case taper

• Sealing corrugated cardboard boxes in food production lines.
• Packaging finished goods in bakeries, confectioneries, and ready-meal facilities.
• Automating the final stage of packaging before palletisation and distribution.
• Use in environments requiring consistent and secure case closure.

Typical throughput

Typically 15-30 cases per minute, depending on case size and operator interaction.

Power supply

Commonly requires a 3-phase electrical supply, typically 400V, 50Hz, as indicated for this unit.

Case dimensions

Units of this type commonly handle a range of case sizes; this specific unit handles maximum box width 450mm and maximum box height 400mm.

Taping method

Applies adhesive tape to both the top and bottom flaps of cases simultaneously.

Drive system

Side grip belts are typically used to stabilise and transport cases through the taping head.

Footprint

For this class of equipment, a footprint of approximately 1.5m to 2.5m in length is common, plus conveyor extensions.

Tape type

Typically uses standard packaging tape rolls, commonly 50mm or 75mm wide.

• What maintenance is typically required for a case taper?

Routine maintenance usually involves cleaning tape heads, checking belt tension, lubricating moving parts, and inspecting electrical connections. Tape head blades will require periodic replacement.

• Can this machine handle different box sizes?

• Is an infeed and outfeed conveyor necessary?

• What type of tape does this machine use?

• What are the benefits of a top and bottom case taper?

Strapping equipment remains reliable for securing packaged goods across food processing operations. Buyers typically value machines offering consistent tension control, minimal downtime, and straightforward maintenance. When purchasing used units, inspectors should assess wear on strapping heads, motor function, and sensor calibration. Industry sentiment favours equipment with proven track records in high-volume environments. Key strengths include durability, energy efficiency, and compatibility with various film types. Proper mechanical condition and operational history are essential considerations for cost-effective procurement.
