Giesen Destoner OW50

• Used in coffee processing to remove stones and other dense foreign objects from roasted coffee beans.
• Applicable in small to medium-sized food processing operations requiring pre-packaging quality control.
• Suitable for artisan producers where product purity is critical before further processing or packaging.

Typical capacity

For this class of equipment, capacities commonly range from 15kg to 50kg per batch, suitable for integration with small to medium-scale roasters.

Power supply

Units of this type typically require a single-phase electrical connection, commonly 230V/50Hz in the UK.

Footprint

Destoners designed for integration with smaller roasters often feature a compact, mobile design for flexible placement within a facility.

Material handling

Equipment in this category is generally designed for post-roast handling of dry, particulate materials like coffee beans.

Control

Controllable frequency drives are commonly found on units of this type, allowing for adjustment of destoning intensity.

Certifications

For equipment sold in the UK and Europe, CE certification is typically expected, with UL and AGA certifications relevant for broader market access.

• What is a destoner and why is it used?

A destoner is a machine that removes dense foreign objects, such as stones, metal, or glass, from a product stream using differences in density and airflow. It is used to ensure product purity and protect downstream equipment from damage.

• Can this destoner be used with other roaster brands?

• What kind of maintenance does a destoner require?

• Is this unit suitable for products other than coffee beans?

• What are the benefits of a mobile destoner?

Sorting and grading equipment is valued for improving product consistency and processing efficiency. Buyers typically seek machines in good mechanical condition with minimal wear on critical components like belts, motors and calibration systems. Common strengths include reliable performance when properly maintained, cost savings versus new equipment, and compatibility with existing production lines. Industry sentiment favours models from established manufacturers known for durability. Buyers should inspect electrical systems thoroughly and verify spare parts availability before purchasing used units.
