Scotraco BV - New Rotary Table

• Used in machining centres for multi-sided component processing without re-chucking.
• Integrated into automated assembly lines for precise part positioning and indexing.
• Utilised in welding and fabrication for rotating workpieces to optimal access angles.
• Applied in inspection systems for presenting components to sensors or cameras from various orientations.
• Employed in packaging machinery for accurate filling, sealing, or labelling operations.

Typical table diameter range

For this class of equipment, diameters commonly range from 100mm to over 2000mm, with 1250mm being a substantial size.

Indexing accuracy

Typically, indexing accuracy for rotary tables can range from a few arc-seconds to several arc-minutes, depending on the precision required.

Load capacity

The load capacity for units of this type can vary significantly, often from tens of kilograms to several tonnes, influenced by bearing design and motor torque.

Power supply

Commonly, rotary tables are powered by 3-phase industrial supplies (e.g., 400V, 50Hz in the UK) for motor operation, with control systems often requiring lower voltage DC.

Control interface

Units typically feature a control interface compatible with CNC systems, PLCs, or standalone controllers, often via pulse/direction or fieldbus communication.

Drive mechanism

Common drive mechanisms include worm gear, direct drive, or roller gear cam, each offering different levels of precision, speed, and backlash.

• What is the primary function of a rotary table?

A rotary table's primary function is to precisely position and rotate a workpiece or fixture around a central axis, enabling operations on multiple sides or at specific angular increments.

• Can this rotary table be integrated with existing CNC machinery?

• What maintenance is typically required for a rotary table?

• What factors should I consider when selecting a rotary table?

• Are 'new' used items common in industrial equipment?

Rotary tables and indexing systems are valued in food processing for their reliability in automating product handling and storage workflows. Buyers typically prioritise stainless steel construction and corrosion resistance given food safety requirements. When purchasing used equipment, inspectors should check bearing condition, indexing accuracy, and cleanliness of surfaces. Industry sentiment favours models with straightforward maintenance and proven track records in high-volume production environments. Durability and precise positioning capabilities remain key strengths attracting continued buyer interest.
