Rademaker - Pie Line

• Production of various pies, including meat, fruit, and savoury pies.
• Manufacturing of tarts, quiches, and other pastry-based products.
• High-volume production environments requiring automated depositing and conveying.
• Integration into existing food production lines for increased efficiency.

Typical throughput

For this class of equipment, throughput can vary significantly, but units with multi-head depositors are commonly capable of producing hundreds of units per minute, depending on product size and complexity.

Depositor type

Units of this type typically feature multi-head volumetric depositors, suitable for various fillings.

Conveyor length

Conveyor systems on pie lines commonly range from 5 to 15 metres in length, often configured with multiple tiers to optimise space and process flow.

Power supply

Industrial food processing lines commonly require a 3-phase electrical supply, typically 400V, 50Hz in the UK.

Materials of construction

Components in contact with food are typically constructed from food-grade stainless steel (e.g., 304 or 316) for hygiene and durability.

Footprint

A complete pie line, including conveying and depositing, will require a substantial footprint, often exceeding 10-15 metres in length, plus space for access and maintenance.

• What types of fillings can this depositor handle?

Multi-head spot depositors are generally versatile and can handle a range of viscous and semi-viscous fillings, including fruit, meat, and cream fillings. The specific capabilities depend on the depositor's nozzle configuration and pump type.

• Is this line suitable for different pie sizes?

• What maintenance is typically required for a used pie line?

• Can this line be integrated with other equipment?

• What are the common safety features on such equipment?

Food depositors are valued for their precision, consistency and reliability in portioning applications across bakery, confectionery and prepared foods sectors. Buyers typically prioritise machines with minimal wear, clear maintenance histories and compatible control systems. Key strengths include durability when properly serviced, adaptability to various product viscosities, and straightforward operation. When purchasing used equipment, inspecting nozzles, pumps and pneumatic components is essential, as wear directly affects deposit accuracy. Machines from reputable manufacturers with documented service records generally command buyer confidence and deliver strong long-term value.
