Icon Engineering - Sanitising Tunnel

• Used in food processing for sanitising packaged products or containers before further handling.
• Applicable in pharmaceutical manufacturing for sterilising vials, bottles, or small components.
• Utilised in logistics and warehousing to sanitise incoming or outgoing goods.
• Suitable for horticultural applications to clean trays or pots, reducing pathogen spread.
• Employed in high-care environments to maintain hygiene standards for equipment or personnel.

Typical throughput

Typically designed for continuous operation, with throughput dependent on conveyor speed and product size.

Power supply

Commonly requires a standard industrial electrical supply, typically 3-phase, for pumps and conveyor motors.

Water connection

Requires a mains cold water supply for the sanitising solution.

Sanitising agent compatibility

Units of this type are generally compatible with a range of liquid sanitising agents, dispensed via a dosing unit.

Construction material

Typically constructed from stainless steel for hygiene and corrosion resistance in wet environments.

Footprint

The overall length and width can vary significantly depending on the required dwell time and conveyor width.

• What kind of sanitising fluid can be used with this unit?

This unit, with its Doserton system, is designed to work with liquid sanitising fluids. Buyers should consult the seller for specific compatibility and recommended types.

• Is installation complex for a sanitising tunnel?

• What maintenance is typically required for a cold water steriliser?

• Can this unit handle different product sizes?

• What are the benefits of using a sanitising tunnel?

For food processing washing and sanitizing equipment, buyers typically value durability, ease of cleaning, and compliance with hygiene standards. Industry sentiment emphasizes the importance of verifying spray patterns, material quality, and maintenance history when purchasing used units. Stainless steel construction and reliable pump performance are considered key strengths. Buyers should check for corrosion, seal condition, and documentation of regular servicing to ensure food safety compliance.
