Sorma PK8 Punnet Netting Machine

• Packaging fresh produce such as citrus fruits, stone fruits, and vegetables in netted punnets.
• Suitable for use in fruit and vegetable packing houses and distribution centres.
• Often integrated into larger automated packing lines for increased efficiency.

Typical capacity

For this class of equipment, throughput commonly ranges from 20 to 40 punnets per minute, depending on punnet size and product.

Power supply

Units of this type typically require a 3-phase electrical supply, commonly 400V, 50Hz, with a power draw of 2-5 kW.

Punnet size range

Sorma PK8 machines are generally designed to handle a variety of punnet sizes, typically from 250g to 1kg capacity.

Netting material

These machines commonly use extruded netting on rolls, suitable for food contact.

Footprint

A Sorma PK8 typically requires a floor space of approximately 2.5m x 1.5m, plus space for material loading and maintenance access.

Air supply

Pneumatic functions on such machines commonly require a compressed air supply, typically 6-8 bar.

• What type of punnets can this machine handle?

The Sorma PK8 is designed to handle pre-formed plastic punnets, which are then netted. Buyers should confirm specific punnet dimensions with the seller.

• Is this machine suitable for different product types?

• What kind of maintenance is typically required?

• Can this machine be integrated into an existing packing line?

• What spare parts are commonly needed?

Used sealing machines are generally valued for their durability and long operational life. Buyers typically prioritize machines with clear maintenance histories and minimal wear on sealing components. Key considerations include film compatibility, seal quality consistency, and ease of adjustment. Reputable models tend to retain functionality well across multiple applications. Industry sentiment suggests these machines offer strong value when sourced from reliable vendors, though operators should verify calibration settings and test seal integrity before full production use.
