Sorma Rotary Table

• Used for precise positioning and indexing of workpieces in machining operations.
• Suitable for automated assembly lines requiring rotational movement and accurate stopping points.
• Integrated into inspection systems for presenting multiple sides of a component to sensors or cameras.
• Utilised in welding and fabrication for rotating parts to achieve optimal access for robotic or manual processes.

Typical table diameter

Rotary tables in this class commonly feature diameters ranging from 150mm to 600mm, influencing the size of workpieces that can be accommodated.

Indexing accuracy

Units of this type typically offer indexing accuracies of ±15 to ±60 arc seconds, crucial for precision applications.

Load capacity

For this class of equipment, static load capacities commonly range from 50kg to 500kg, depending on the specific design and bearing system.

Power supply

Most rotary tables are electrically driven, typically requiring a 230V single-phase or 400V three-phase supply for their motor and control systems.

Control interface

Commonly, these units feature a control interface compatible with standard CNC systems or standalone controllers, often via pulse/direction or fieldbus protocols.

Drive mechanism

Units of this type typically employ worm gear drives for high precision and rigidity, or direct drive motors for higher speeds and dynamic performance.

• What is the primary function of a rotary table?

A rotary table's primary function is to precisely rotate and position workpieces or fixtures at specific angular increments, enabling operations on multiple faces or at various orientations.

• Can this unit be integrated into an existing CNC system?

• What maintenance is typically required for a used rotary table?

• Is a separate controller needed for operation?

• What factors influence the choice of rotary table for an application?

Rotary tables and indexing systems are valued in food processing for their reliability in automating product handling and storage workflows. Buyers typically prioritise stainless steel construction and corrosion resistance given food safety requirements. When purchasing used equipment, inspectors should check bearing condition, indexing accuracy, and cleanliness of surfaces. Industry sentiment favours models with straightforward maintenance and proven track records in high-volume production environments. Durability and precise positioning capabilities remain key strengths attracting continued buyer interest.
