Vaakakoskinen AD-4327B stainless floor scale

• Used for weighing bulk ingredients such as flour, sugar, or grains in food production.
• Suitable for checking the weight of large containers, pallets, or trolleys of finished goods before dispatch.
• Applied in quality control for verifying incoming raw material weights against delivery notes.
• Utilised in batching processes where precise measurement of multiple components is required.
• Commonly found in warehousing and logistics for inventory management and shipping weight verification.

Typical capacity

Floor scales of this class commonly offer capacities ranging from 500 kg up to 3000 kg, with this unit specified up to 1000 kg.

Weigh bed dimensions

This unit features an 850mm x 850mm weigh bed; typical floor scales for food processing can range from 800mm x 800mm to 1500mm x 1500mm.

Material construction

Units for food processing are typically constructed from stainless steel (e.g., 304 or 316 grade) for hygiene and corrosion resistance.

Power supply

Most industrial floor scales operate on standard single-phase mains power (e.g., 230V, 50Hz in the UK) or internal rechargeable batteries for portability.

Environmental protection

For food environments, units commonly feature an IP rating of IP65 or higher, indicating protection against dust and water jets for washdown.

Interface and connectivity

Typically includes a digital indicator with a clear display, and may offer data output options such as RS-232 for integration with other systems.

• What is the typical accuracy of a floor scale like this?

Industrial floor scales are typically accurate to within 0.1% of their maximum capacity, often with divisions (increments) of 0.1 kg to 0.5 kg for a 1000 kg scale.

• Is this unit suitable for washdown environments?

• Can this scale be integrated with existing production line software?

• What maintenance is typically required for a used floor scale?

• Are spare parts readily available for unknown manufacturer scales?

Precision and portable balances are valued for their accuracy and reliability across laboratory and pharmaceutical settings. Buyers typically seek models with proven calibration stability and minimal drift over time. When purchasing used equipment, industry practice emphasises checking calibration certificates, verifying display functionality, and confirming availability of replacement parts. These instruments are generally regarded as durable workhorses that perform well if properly maintained. Key strengths include repeatability, compact design for space-constrained labs, and compatibility with existing analytical workflows.
