Check the chiller's rated capacity at your required coolant temperature, not its headline figure, because capacity falls as the set point drops. Ask the seller for the rating at your temperature before committing.

Ask for the unit to run: it should pull down to set point and hold it, with the pump delivering stated pressure and flow. Inspect the condenser coil for damage and blockage, and the tank and wetted circuit for scale and corrosion. Ask what coolant it ran, since untreated water leaves deposits that cut capacity.

Most recirculating chillers run water and glycol mixtures, which is essential for set points near or below freezing and for outdoor pipe runs. Confirm the rated minimum coolant temperature and whether the pump and seals are specified for glycol concentration you need. The seller can confirm what coolant the machine ran previously.

Smaller chillers and dryers travel on a pallet; larger units and cooling lines need forklift loading and flatbed transport agreed with the seller. On arrival, plan for a certificated engineer to check the refrigerant circuit and for flushing the coolant loop before connection. Agree draining and sealing for transport in writing beforehand.
