What types of metal can this detector identify?

Metal detectors of this type are designed to identify ferrous, non-ferrous, and stainless steel contaminants. The sensitivity will vary depending on the metal type and product characteristics.

Is this unit suitable for wet or washdown environments?

Given its stainless steel construction and food industry focus, units of this type are generally designed for easy cleaning and can withstand typical washdown procedures. Buyers should confirm the specific IP rating with the seller.

How does 4-quadrant technology benefit detection?

4-quadrant technology, often combined with 3D detection, enhances accuracy and stability by providing a more comprehensive scan of the product. This helps to minimise false rejects and improve detection rates for various orientations of contaminants.

Can this metal detector be integrated into an existing production line?

Yes, units like the Cassel Metal Shark 2A are designed for integration into existing conveyor lines. Compatibility will depend on line speed, product flow, and available space. The SHARKNET-ready feature suggests network integration capabilities.

What is the typical maintenance requirement for this equipment?

Maintenance typically involves routine cleaning, periodic calibration checks, and inspection of the conveyor belt and reject mechanism. Specific schedules should be outlined in the manufacturer's manual.
