Elena Marchetti Box Taper

• Sealing cardboard boxes in packing lines for e-commerce and logistics operations.
• Automating the closure of filled cartons in manufacturing and distribution centres.
• Securing packages for shipment in various industrial settings.
• Integrating into end-of-line packaging systems for increased efficiency.

Typical throughput

Units of this type commonly process between 10 to 30 boxes per minute, depending on box size and operator interaction.

Power supply

Box tapers typically require a standard single-phase electrical supply, commonly 230V, 50Hz for the UK market.

Suitable box dimensions

For this class of equipment, units typically handle a range of carton sizes, with minimums around 150mm (L) x 100mm (W) x 100mm (H) and maximums up to 500mm (L) x 500mm (W) x 500mm (H), though specific models vary.

Tape width

Most box tapers are designed to use standard packaging tape widths, typically 50mm or 75mm.

Footprint

A typical footprint for a semi-automatic box taper is around 1000mm (L) x 800mm (W) x 1400mm (H), excluding infeed/outfeed conveyors.

Operation type

Elena Marchetti box tapers are commonly semi-automatic, requiring an operator to feed boxes, or fully automatic when integrated into a conveyor line.

• What type of tape does this machine use?

Box tapers typically use standard pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) packaging tape, commonly polypropylene or PVC, in specified widths.

• Is this unit suitable for random box sizes?

• What maintenance is typically required for a used box taper?

• Can this machine be integrated into an existing production line?

• What are the common wear parts on a box taper?

Strapping equipment remains reliable for securing packaged goods across food processing operations. Buyers typically value machines offering consistent tension control, minimal downtime, and straightforward maintenance. When purchasing used units, inspectors should assess wear on strapping heads, motor function, and sensor calibration. Industry sentiment favours equipment with proven track records in high-volume environments. Key strengths include durability, energy efficiency, and compatibility with various film types. Proper mechanical condition and operational history are essential considerations for cost-effective procurement.
