Frigopak Grasso Compressor

• Industrial refrigeration systems for cold storage and food processing.
• Chemical and pharmaceutical production requiring precise temperature control.
• Breweries and distilleries for chilling processes.
• Large-scale air conditioning and climate control systems in commercial buildings.

Compressor Type

This unit is a Grasso compressor, commonly associated with robust industrial refrigeration applications.

Refrigerant Type

This specific unit uses Freon. Ammonia pack units for similar models are also commonly available, offering different performance and safety profiles.

Mounting

Skid-mounted design, typically allowing for easier installation and relocation within an industrial setting.

Ancillary Equipment

Units of this type commonly include a control panel, surge drum, and receiver, forming a complete compressor pack.

Typical Capacity

For this class of industrial compressor, cooling capacities typically range from several hundred kW to multiple MW, depending on the specific model and application.

Power Supply

Industrial compressors of this size commonly require a three-phase electrical supply, typically 400V or 415V, 50Hz, with significant amperage requirements.

Footprint

Skid-mounted industrial compressor packs typically require a substantial floor area, often several square meters, and adequate headroom for maintenance.

• What is the significance of a 'skid-mounted' unit?

A skid-mounted unit means the compressor and its associated components are pre-assembled on a steel frame, facilitating easier transport, installation, and integration into existing systems.

• What is the difference between Freon and Ammonia compressors?

• What maintenance is typically required for a used industrial compressor?

• Can this unit be adapted for different refrigerants?

• What should I consider regarding the control panel?

Used air compressors for lab and pharma applications are generally valued for reliability and cost savings. Buyers typically prioritize checking maintenance history, confirming pressure ratings meet specific requirements, and verifying oil-free operation where contamination control matters. Key strengths include durability when properly serviced, consistent performance across extended operational hours, and significant capital cost reduction compared to new units. Inspecting seals, checking for corrosion, and confirming recent servicing records are standard considerations when purchasing secondhand.
