Kronen - Potato Peeler

• Commercial kitchens and catering operations for preparing large quantities of potatoes.
• Food processing facilities for initial potato preparation before further processing.
• Restaurants and hotels requiring efficient peeling of root vegetables.
• Institutional kitchens in schools, hospitals, or care homes.

Typical capacity

For this class of equipment, capacities typically range from 10 kg to 50 kg per batch, depending on the specific model.

Power supply

Units of this type commonly operate on a 3-phase industrial power supply (e.g., 400V, 50Hz) or, for smaller models, single-phase (230V, 50Hz).

Peeling mechanism

Kronen peelers typically utilise an abrasive disc or drum system for efficient skin removal.

Material construction

Commonly, the main body and contact parts are constructed from stainless steel for hygiene and durability.

Water consumption

These machines typically require a continuous water supply during operation for washing and waste removal.

Footprint

The footprint for commercial potato peelers varies, but they are generally designed to be freestanding units suitable for kitchen or processing areas.

• What type of vegetables can this peeler process?

While primarily designed for potatoes, units of this type are often suitable for peeling other root vegetables such as carrots, parsnips, and celeriac, depending on their size and hardness.

• How is the peeling efficiency and waste managed?

• What maintenance is typically required for a used potato peeler?

• Are spare parts readily available for Kronen equipment?

• What are the typical safety features on a commercial potato peeler?

Washers and peelers are considered reliable workhorses in food processing facilities. Buyers typically value models offering consistent performance and easy cleaning. When purchasing used equipment, inspectors commonly assess drum condition, motor functionality, and wear on rotating components. Industry sentiment favours machines with stainless steel construction for durability and hygiene compliance. Straightforward mechanical design generally means lower maintenance costs compared to more complex processing equipment. Availability of replacement parts remains an important consideration for long-term operation.
