Probat UW803

• Used for grinding roasted coffee beans to various consistencies, from coarse to espresso fine.
• Suitable for processing other dry, brittle food products such as spices or grains, requiring a consistent particle size.
• Often found in industrial coffee roasting facilities, large-scale bakeries, and food ingredient production plants.

Typical throughput

For this class of industrial roller mill, throughput commonly ranges from 500 kg/h to 1,500 kg/h, depending on the desired grind size and product density.

Power supply

Units of this type typically require a 3-phase industrial power supply, commonly 400V, 50Hz, with a motor rating often between 15 kW and 30 kW.

Grinding mechanism

Utilises precision-engineered rollers to achieve a consistent and uniform grind, which is particularly beneficial for coffee and similar products.

Footprint

Industrial roller mills like the UW803 typically have a substantial footprint, often requiring a floor area of approximately 1.5m x 2.5m and a height of around 2.0m to 2.5m.

Material suitability

Primarily designed for dry, non-abrasive, and brittle materials. Not suitable for oily, sticky, or high-moisture products without specific modifications.

Adjustability

Commonly features adjustable roller gaps to allow for precise control over the final particle size, catering to different product requirements.

• What maintenance is typically required for a roller mill of this type?

Regular maintenance commonly involves checking and adjusting roller gaps, inspecting bearings, cleaning grinding chambers, and periodically replacing worn rollers or wear parts to ensure optimal performance and grind consistency.

• Can this mill handle different types of coffee roasts?

• What safety features are commonly found on these units?

• Is specialist installation required for a Probat UW803?

• What is the typical lifespan of the grinding rollers?

Food processing mills are valued for consistent particle size reduction across grain, spice and dry ingredient applications. Buyers typically prioritise motor condition, grinding chamber cleanliness and wear on grinding elements when purchasing used equipment. Industry sentiment highlights reliability and longevity as key strengths, particularly with well-maintained units. Attention should be given to throughput capacity matching production needs and compatibility with existing systems. Corrosion resistance matters for hygiene-sensitive environments. Reputable machines from established manufacturers generally command buyer confidence in the secondary market.
