Various Manufacturers

• Packing fresh fruit, such as strawberries and plum tomatoes, into sealed punnets.
• Packaging various fresh vegetables into consumer-ready trays.
• Automated weighing and sealing of delicate produce for retail.
• High-speed packing operations for perishable goods requiring extended shelf life.

Typical throughput

For this class of equipment, speeds of approximately 60 trays per minute are commonly achieved.

Power supply

Units of this type typically require a 3-phase industrial power supply, commonly 400V, 50Hz, with appropriate amperage for motors and heating elements.

Product weight range

Multi-head weighers commonly accommodate various product weights, adjustable via the control system.

Punnets/trays

Designed for preformed punnets or trays, with denester units handling automatic feeding.

Sealing type

Tray sealers typically use heat-sealing technology to apply film to the punnets/trays.

Control system

Modern packing lines commonly feature PLC controls with a human-machine interface (HMI) for operation and monitoring.

Footprint

A complete line of this nature will require a significant operational footprint, typically several metres in length and width, depending on configuration.

• What types of produce can this line pack?

This type of line is typically used for packing delicate fresh produce such as strawberries, plum tomatoes, and other similar fruits or vegetables into sealed punnets or trays.

• Does the line include labelling and check-weighing?

• Are different punnet sizes supported?

• What maintenance is typically required for such a line?

• Can the line speed be adjusted?

• Is specialist installation required?

Used sealing machines are generally valued for their durability and long operational life. Buyers typically prioritize machines with clear maintenance histories and minimal wear on sealing components. Key considerations include film compatibility, seal quality consistency, and ease of adjustment. Reputable models tend to retain functionality well across multiple applications. Industry sentiment suggests these machines offer strong value when sourced from reliable vendors, though operators should verify calibration settings and test seal integrity before full production use.
