Cryovac Straight Conveyor

• Moving packaged food items through a processing line, such as after vacuum sealing or heat shrinking.
• Transporting products between different stages of a food production or packaging operation.
• Integrating into automated systems for sorting, inspection, or further processing of goods.
• Handling a variety of product types, including meat, poultry, dairy, and ready meals.

Typical throughput

Varies significantly based on belt speed and product size, but units of this type commonly handle hundreds to thousands of items per hour.

Power supply

Typically requires a standard industrial electrical supply, commonly 400V, 3-phase, 50Hz in the UK.

Conveyor belt material

Commonly food-grade plastic modular belts or stainless steel mesh, suitable for washdown environments.

Frame material

Typically constructed from stainless steel for hygiene and durability in food processing settings.

Operating speed

Often features variable speed control, allowing adjustment to match upstream and downstream equipment.

Footprint

The length is the primary variable, with widths typically ranging from 300mm to 800mm for this class of equipment.

• What kind of products can this conveyor handle?

This type of conveyor is designed for packaged food products, particularly those that have undergone vacuum sealing or heat shrinking, common with Cryovac systems.

• Is this conveyor suitable for washdown environments?

• Can the speed of the conveyor be adjusted?

• What maintenance is typically required for a conveyor like this?

• What are the common safety features on such a conveyor?

Buyers typically value conveyor systems for their reliability and longevity when well-maintained. Key considerations when purchasing used units include belt condition, motor functionality, frame integrity, and available spare parts. Industry sentiment emphasises the importance of verifying operational history and cleanliness standards, particularly for food handling applications. Common strengths include robust construction, relatively straightforward maintenance requirements, and cost savings versus new equipment. Reputable manufacturers' models tend to hold their value well and integrate readily into existing production lines.
