What is the typical footprint of a Probat GG12?

While exact dimensions vary, a GG12 typically requires a floor space of approximately 1.5m x 1m, plus clearance for operation and maintenance.

What utilities are required for a gas-converted roaster?

A gas-converted unit requires a suitable gas supply (LPG or natural gas) and an electrical supply, commonly single-phase or three-phase, for motors and controls.

How often does a coffee roaster like this require maintenance?

Regular daily cleaning of chaff and weekly inspections are common. More extensive annual servicing, including burner and drum checks, is typically recommended.

Can this roaster handle different types of coffee beans?

Yes, a Probat GG12 is designed to roast a wide variety of green coffee beans, allowing for diverse roast profiles for different origins and processing methods.

What are the benefits of a gas conversion?

Gas conversion can offer more precise temperature control and potentially lower operating costs compared to electric heating, depending on local energy prices.

Used roasters are valued for their durability and cost effectiveness in food processing operations. Buyers typically prioritise even heat distribution, temperature control consistency, and robust construction when selecting secondhand units. Industry sentiment favours roasters from established manufacturers known for reliable performance. Key considerations include maintenance history, heating element condition, and capacity matching operational requirements. Well-maintained roasters often deliver dependable service across coffee roasting, nut processing, and other food applications, making them sound investments for processors seeking to minimise capital expenditure.
