Various Manufacturers

• Packaging fresh fruits and vegetables, such as tomatoes, berries, or stone fruits, into consumer-ready punnets or trays.
• Creating retail-compliant flow-wrapped packages for supermarket distribution.
• Integrating weighing, labelling, and collation processes into a continuous packing operation.
• Handling delicate produce with reduced manual intervention post-sorting.

Typical throughput

For this class of equipment, lines commonly achieve speeds of 40-80 packs per minute, depending on product size and film type.

Power supply

Units of this type typically require a 3-phase industrial power supply, commonly 400V, 50Hz.

Footprint

A complete line, including sorting, wrapping, and end-of-line equipment, can typically span 15-25 metres in length and 2-4 metres in width.

Packaging materials

Designed for use with various flow-wrap films, typically BOPP, CPP, or laminates suitable for fresh produce.

Product handling

Features like flighted infeeds and gentle conveyors are common to minimise damage to delicate items.

Automation level

Typically semi-automated, with manual sorting and feeding, followed by automated wrapping, weighing, and labelling.
