Videojet 1710

• Applying variable data such as best-before dates and batch codes to food and beverage packaging.
• Printing serial numbers and barcodes on pharmaceutical products for traceability.
• Marking industrial components and cables with product information and logos.
• Coding primary and secondary packaging in various manufacturing sectors.
• Labelling consumer goods with regulatory information and branding.

Printing Technology

Continuous Inkjet (CIJ), commonly used for high-speed, non-contact printing on various substrates.

Typical Print Speed

For this class of equipment, print speeds can typically range from a few metres per minute up to several hundred metres per minute, depending on resolution and line count.

Printable Substrates

Commonly suitable for plastics, glass, metal, paperboard, and other non-porous and semi-porous materials.

Number of Print Lines

Units of this type typically support 1 to 5 lines of print.

Power Supply

Typically operates on a standard single-phase industrial supply, such as 230V AC, 50Hz in the UK.

Ink and Make-up System

Utilises a closed ink and make-up fluid system, often with smart cartridge technology for ease of replacement.

Connectivity

Commonly features Ethernet, USB, and serial ports for integration into production lines and data management.

Operating Environment

Typically designed for industrial environments, with an IP rating suitable for dust and splash resistance, commonly IP55 or higher.

• What is Continuous Inkjet (CIJ) technology?

CIJ is a non-contact printing method where a continuous stream of ink droplets is emitted from a printhead. Selected droplets are charged and deflected to form characters, while uncharged droplets are recirculated.

Laboratory labelling and printing systems are valued for precision, consistency and compliance support in regulated environments. Buyers typically prioritise reliability, print quality and compatibility with existing laboratory workflows. When purchasing used equipment, condition of print heads, calibration history and maintenance records warrant careful inspection. Industry sentiment favours systems offering flexibility across label sizes and formats. Common strengths include durability, straightforward operation and good availability of replacement consumables. Integration capability with laboratory information management systems is increasingly important to buyers.
