Watson Marlow 520Di Peristaltic Pump

• Accurate dosing and transfer of shear-sensitive fluids in laboratory settings.
• Metering of chemicals, reagents, and media in pharmaceutical and biotechnology processes.
• Dispensing of flavourings, additives, and ingredients in food and beverage production.
• Handling of abrasive slurries and viscous liquids in industrial applications.
• Sterile fluid transfer in biopharmaceutical manufacturing due to contained fluid path.

Typical flow rates

For this class of equipment, flow rates commonly range from microlitres per minute up to several litres per minute, depending on tubing size and drive speed.

Power supply

Units of this type typically operate on a standard single-phase AC supply, commonly 110-230V, 50/60Hz.

Control interface

The 520Di model typically features a digital display and keypad for precise control of flow rate, dispensing volume, and other parameters.

Tubing compatibility

Peristaltic pumps like the 520Di are designed to accept a range of tubing materials and bore sizes, allowing for application-specific fluid handling.

Footprint

These units are generally compact benchtop devices, with dimensions typically suited for laboratory or process line integration.

Pumphead options

The 520Di drive is compatible with various 520 series pumpheads, offering flexibility in flow rate and pressure capabilities.

• What does 'without legs' mean for this pump?

This typically means the unit is supplied without its original stand or mounting feet. It may require custom mounting or placement on a stable surface.

• Is this pump suitable for continuous operation?

• What kind of maintenance does a peristaltic pump require?

• Can this pump handle corrosive chemicals?

• What is the typical accuracy for a 520Di pump?

Peristaltic pumps are valued in laboratory and pharmaceutical settings for their gentle, non-contact fluid handling, making them suitable for delicate samples and sterile applications. When buying used units, buyers typically prioritise checking tubing condition, motor functionality, and calibration history. Industry sentiment favours these pumps for their reliability, low maintenance requirements, and consistent flow rates. Common strengths include versatility across various fluid viscosities and compatibility with corrosive or shear-sensitive media. Prospective buyers should verify spare parts availability for specific models.
