What types of products are best suited for a volumetric filler?

Volumetric fillers are ideal for free-flowing, consistent products such as granules, powders, seeds, and small components where volume rather than weight is the primary dosing metric.

Can this machine handle different pouch sizes?

Yes, units of this type commonly feature adjustable settings and sometimes require change parts to accommodate a range of pouch dimensions within the machine's specified limits.

What maintenance is typically required for this equipment?

Routine maintenance commonly includes cleaning of product contact parts, inspection and lubrication of moving components, and checking wear parts like seals and heating elements.

Is this machine suitable for liquids?

No, a volumetric filler of this design is specifically for dry, free-flowing products. Liquid filling requires different pump or piston-based filling technologies.

What safety features are commonly found on these machines?

Typical safety features include interlocked guards, emergency stop buttons, and overload protection to ensure operator safety during operation and maintenance.

Packaging of free-flowing granular products such as snacks, nuts, and cereals.
Filling and sealing of powders like spices, coffee, and flour into pre-formed pouches.
Dispensing and packaging of small components or non-food items.
Suitable for industries requiring precise volumetric dosing and automated pouch handling.

Typical capacity: For this class of equipment, throughput commonly ranges from 15 to 40 pouches per minute, depending on product and pouch size.
Power supply: Units of this type typically require a 3-phase electrical supply, commonly 400V, 50Hz, with an associated compressed air supply.
Filling accuracy: Volumetric fillers are designed for consistent dosing, typically achieving accuracy within +/- 1-3% for free-flowing products.
Pouch types: This machinery is generally compatible with various pre-formed pouches, including stand-up pouches, flat pouches, and gusseted bags.
Material construction: Product contact parts are commonly constructed from food-grade stainless steel (e.g., SS304 or SS316) for hygiene and durability.
Footprint: The overall footprint for a combined volumetric filler and pouch sealing machine typically requires a floor area of approximately 2m x 1.5m, plus space for access and material handling.

Volumetric fillers are ideal for free-flowing, consistent products such as granules, powders, seeds, and small components where volume rather than weight is the primary dosing metric.

Filling machines remain sought-after on the secondhand market due to their durability and long operational lifespan. Buyers typically value models from established manufacturers known for robust construction. When purchasing used units, inspectors should verify seal integrity, calibration accuracy, and maintenance history, as these directly affect product consistency and line efficiency. Common strengths include straightforward mechanical design facilitating repairs and adaptability to different container sizes. Reliability and minimal downtime are frequently cited priorities among processors seeking cost-effective production solutions.
