Eurotek Compact Spiral Freezer

• Rapidly freezing bakery products such as bread, pastries, and cakes.
• Individually quick freezing (IQF) of small to medium-sized meat, poultry, and fish portions.
• Freezing prepared meals and ready-to-eat food items.
• Chilling and freezing of fruit and vegetable products.
• Processing dairy products like ice cream and desserts.

Typical capacity

For this class of compact spiral freezer, throughput can typically range from 200 kg/hour to 1,000 kg/hour, depending on product type and belt width.

Power supply

Units of this type commonly require a 400V, 3-phase, 50Hz electrical supply, with power consumption varying based on compressor size and operating conditions.

Refrigeration system

Typically designed for use with ammonia (R717) or HFC refrigerants (e.g., R404A, R507A), requiring connection to an external refrigeration plant.

Footprint

Compact models are designed to minimise floor space, commonly featuring a smaller overall footprint compared to larger industrial spiral freezers.

Belt width

Commonly found with belt widths ranging from 400mm to 800mm, influencing product throughput and size.

Construction material

As described, all stainless steel construction is standard for hygiene and durability in food processing environments.

• What are the advantages of a spiral freezer over a tunnel freezer?

Spiral freezers offer a significantly smaller footprint for a given capacity due to their vertical design. They are also highly efficient for continuous processing of a wide range of products.

• What kind of products are best suited for a compact spiral freezer?

• What maintenance is typically required for a spiral freezer?

• Does this unit include the refrigeration plant?

• What is the typical operating temperature range?

Spiral freezers are valued in food processing for their compact footprint and efficient product handling. Buyers typically appreciate their gentle freezing action, which preserves product quality and texture. When purchasing used equipment, inspection of the spiral belt condition and refrigeration system performance is essential. The stainless steel construction generally resists corrosion well in demanding environments. Common considerations include maintenance costs and spare parts availability, though reliability across production runs remains a noted strength.
