Fish Washer System

• Used for washing and cleaning various types of fish prior to further processing.
• Suitable for removing scales, slime, and debris from fish.
• Often integrated into larger fish processing lines in factories and aquaculture facilities.
• Can be used in seafood processing plants for preparing fish for filleting, smoking, or packaging.

Typical capacity

For this class of equipment, capacities commonly range from 500 kg/hr to several tonnes/hr, depending on drum size and fish type.

Power supply

Units of this type typically operate on a 3-phase industrial power supply, commonly 400V, 50Hz.

Construction material

As stated, all stainless steel construction is standard for hygiene and corrosion resistance in food processing environments.

Footprint

A rotary drum system typically requires a footprint of 2m x 1.5m to 4m x 2.5m, plus space for infeed/outfeed conveyors.

Water consumption

Water consumption varies significantly with throughput and desired cleanliness, but units typically incorporate spray nozzles for efficient washing.

Suitable feed sizes

Rotary drum washers are generally suitable for whole fish of small to medium size, typically up to 500mm in length, depending on drum aperture.

• What maintenance is typically required for a fish washer system?

Routine maintenance commonly involves checking motor and gearbox functionality, inspecting bearings, cleaning spray nozzles, and ensuring all stainless steel surfaces are kept hygienic. Seals and belts may require periodic replacement.

• Can this system handle different types of fish?

• Is this type of equipment suitable for continuous operation?

• What are the typical water requirements for operation?

• Are spare parts readily available for unknown manufacturer equipment?

Fish equipment in food processing is generally well-regarded for durability and reliability when maintained properly. Buyers typically value robust construction and ease of cleaning. When purchasing used fish processing equipment, buyers should inspect for corrosion, verify mechanical functionality, and confirm hygiene compliance standards. Common strengths include longevity with proper maintenance, straightforward operation, and cost effectiveness compared to new alternatives. Stainless steel components and established brand reliability are frequently prioritized considerations in the secondhand market.
