Gram - Horizontal Plate Freezer With Compressor

• Rapid freezing of packaged food products such as fish fillets, meat portions, and poultry.
• Suitable for freezing blocks of liquid or semi-liquid products like fruit purees or sauces.
• Used in seafood processing plants, meat packing facilities, and large-scale bakeries for product preservation.
• Ideal for operations requiring quick freezing to maintain product quality and minimise drip loss.

Typical capacity

For this class of equipment, freezing capacity typically ranges from 500 kg to 2,000 kg per batch, depending on plate size and product thickness.

Number of stations

Units of this type commonly feature between 4 and 10 freezing stations, with this unit specified as 6-station.

Plate dimensions

Plate dimensions typically vary, but common sizes allow for trays or blocks up to 1000mm x 500mm.

Power supply

Most industrial plate freezers, especially those with integrated compressor packs, require a 3-phase electrical supply, commonly 400V/50Hz.

Refrigerant type

Units of this vintage and type commonly utilise refrigerants such as R404A or R507, though buyers should verify the specific refrigerant used in this unit.

Footprint

Self-contained horizontal plate freezers typically require a floor area of 2m x 1.5m to 3m x 2m, plus space for access and maintenance.

Freezing temperature

Operating temperatures for plate freezers are typically in the range of -35°C to -40°C at the plates.

• What is a horizontal plate freezer?

A horizontal plate freezer freezes products by direct contact with refrigerated plates. Products are placed between the plates, which are then hydraulically pressed together to ensure efficient heat transfer and rapid freezing.

Plate freezers are valued for their efficiency in rapid product freezing across food processing applications. Buyers typically appreciate their compact footprint and consistent performance. When purchasing used equipment, inspecting plate condition for corrosion or damage is essential, as worn plates reduce freezing efficiency. Key strengths include reliable operation, relatively straightforward maintenance requirements, and suitability for batch processing. Industry sentiment favours models from established manufacturers with documented service histories. Buyers should verify refrigeration system integrity and confirm spare parts availability before committing to purchase.
