Avery - Washdown Scale

• Used in food processing for portion control and quality checks in wet environments.
• Suitable for pharmaceutical manufacturing where hygiene and precise weighing are critical.
• Applied in chemical industries for accurate ingredient measurement in corrosive or washdown areas.
• Utilised in logistics and warehousing for package verification in damp conditions.

Typical capacity

Typically ranges from 3 kg to 300 kg, depending on the specific model and application.

Power supply

Commonly operates on mains power (e.g., 230V AC, 50Hz for UK) or internal rechargeable batteries for portability.

Ingress Protection (IP) rating

Units of this type typically feature an IP65, IP67, or IP68 rating, indicating protection against dust and water jets or immersion.

Platform material

Often constructed from stainless steel (e.g., 304 or 316 grade) for corrosion resistance and ease of cleaning.

Display type

Typically features a large, easy-to-read LCD or LED display, often with backlighting for visibility in various lighting conditions.

Connectivity

Some models may offer basic data output options such as RS-232 for connection to printers or PCs.

Precision and portable balances are valued for their accuracy and reliability across laboratory and pharmaceutical settings. Buyers typically seek models with proven calibration stability and minimal drift over time. When purchasing used equipment, industry practice emphasises checking calibration certificates, verifying display functionality, and confirming availability of replacement parts. These instruments are generally regarded as durable workhorses that perform well if properly maintained. Key strengths include repeatability, compact design for space-constrained labs, and compatibility with existing analytical workflows.
