Fish Meal Plant

• Processing fish by-products and whole fish into fishmeal and fish oil.
• Utilised in aquaculture feed production for protein-rich ingredients.
• Used in the pet food industry as a nutritional supplement.
• Applied in agricultural feed production for livestock and poultry.

Typical capacity

For this class of equipment, capacities commonly range from 50 MT to 250 MT of raw material per day, depending on the specific configuration.

Power supply

Units of this type typically require a robust industrial power supply, commonly 400V, 3-phase, 50Hz, with significant power draw for motors and heating elements.

Key components

A complete plant typically includes a cooker, press, dryer, grinder, and oil separation equipment.

Footprint

The overall footprint for a fish meal plant can be substantial, requiring a dedicated industrial facility with adequate space for all processing stages and material handling.

Material of construction

Components in contact with raw materials are commonly constructed from stainless steel to ensure hygiene and corrosion resistance.

Maintenance requirements

Regular maintenance is crucial, including cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of wear parts such as press screws, dryer drums, and conveyor systems.

• What is the typical output of fishmeal and fish oil from a plant?

The yield varies significantly based on the raw material quality and fat content. Buyers should discuss specific expected yields with the seller based on their intended input.

• Are there environmental considerations for operating a fish meal plant?

• What kind of raw fish material can be processed?

• What are the common drying methods used in these plants?

• Is installation support typically available for these units?

Fish equipment in food processing is generally well-regarded for durability and reliability when maintained properly. Buyers typically value robust construction and ease of cleaning. When purchasing used fish processing equipment, buyers should inspect for corrosion, verify mechanical functionality, and confirm hygiene compliance standards. Common strengths include longevity with proper maintenance, straightforward operation, and cost effectiveness compared to new alternatives. Stainless steel components and established brand reliability are frequently prioritized considerations in the secondhand market.
