Kohlhoff - Walk-Through Boot Wash

• Food processing facilities requiring high standards of hygiene for personnel entering production areas.
• Pharmaceutical manufacturing plants where contamination control is critical.
• Agricultural settings, such as dairies or poultry farms, to prevent the spread of pathogens.
• Any industrial environment where cleanroom protocols or stringent foot hygiene is mandated.

Typical throughput

Designed for continuous flow, accommodating multiple personnel per minute, depending on individual usage time.

Power supply

Commonly requires a standard industrial electrical supply, typically 230V single-phase or 400V three-phase, with a low power draw for pumps and controls.

Water connection

Requires a mains water connection for cleaning and rinsing, often with a recommended pressure for effective brush operation.

Drainage

Needs a suitable floor drain connection for wastewater removal, often with a pre-filter to manage solids.

Construction material

Units of this type are typically constructed from hygienic-grade stainless steel (e.g., 304 or 316) for durability and ease of cleaning.

Footprint

For this class of equipment, dimensions typically allow for a walk-through design, requiring approximately 1.5m to 2.5m in length and 0.8m to 1.2m in width.

• How does a walk-through boot wash operate?

Personnel walk through the unit, activating rotating brushes and water/sanitiser spray jets, which clean and sanitise the soles and sides of their footwear.

• What type of sanitiser is typically used?

• Is installation complex for this equipment?

• What maintenance is required for a boot wash?

• Can this unit also clean hands?

For food processing washing and sanitizing equipment, buyers typically value durability, ease of cleaning, and compliance with hygiene standards. Industry sentiment emphasizes the importance of verifying spray patterns, material quality, and maintenance history when purchasing used units. Stainless steel construction and reliable pump performance are considered key strengths. Buyers should check for corrosion, seal condition, and documentation of regular servicing to ensure food safety compliance.
