Markem Smartdates

• Printing variable data such as best-before dates, batch codes, and barcodes directly onto flexible packaging films.
• Coding products in food and beverage manufacturing for traceability and compliance.
• Applying identification marks on pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
• Labelling cosmetics and personal care products with production information.
• Marking industrial components and parts with serial numbers or manufacturing data.

Printing Technology

Typically Thermal Transfer Overprinter (TTO) for high-resolution coding.

Print Area

Commonly ranges from 32mm x 30mm to 53mm x 75mm, depending on the specific Smartdate model.

Print Speed

For this class of equipment, print speeds typically range from 10mm/s to 600mm/s.

Ribbon Length

Units commonly accommodate ribbon lengths up to 1200 metres, reducing changeover frequency.

Power Supply

Typically requires a single-phase electrical supply, commonly 100-240V AC, 50/60Hz.

Connectivity

• What types of packaging can Markem Smartdate printers print on?

Markem Smartdate printers are primarily designed for printing on flexible packaging films, labels, and foils commonly used in vertical and horizontal form-fill-seal machines.

• Are spare parts and consumables readily available for used Smartdate models?

• What is the typical lifespan of a Markem Smartdate printer?

• Can these printers be integrated into existing production lines?

• What kind of maintenance do Smartdate printers require?

Barcode scanners and printers are valued in laboratory and pharmaceutical environments for improving sample tracking accuracy and reducing manual data entry errors. Buyers typically seek reliable, durable models that integrate well with existing systems. When purchasing used equipment, condition of optical components and print heads matters significantly. Common strengths include long operational lifespans and straightforward maintenance requirements. Compatibility with standard labelling formats and network connectivity are frequently assessed before purchase. Reputable brands tend to hold value well on secondary markets.
