METTLER TOLEDO COMBINATION UNIT

• Used for final product inspection in food processing to ensure safety and quality.
• Commonly integrated into packaging lines for pharmaceuticals and cosmetics to verify weight and detect contaminants.
• Applicable in logistics and distribution centres for quality control of packaged goods.
• Utilised in chemical industries for inspecting packaged products for foreign objects and correct weight.

Typical throughput

For this class of equipment, throughput typically ranges from 100 to 300 packs per minute, depending on product size and weight.

Power supply

Units of this type commonly require a 230V, single-phase, 50Hz electrical supply.

Footprint

A combination unit like this typically has an overall length of 2.0m to 3.0m, with a width of approximately 0.8m to 1.2m.

Weighing accuracy

Checkweighers in this category commonly offer an accuracy of +/- 0.5g to +/- 2g, depending on the product weight and speed.

Metal detection sensitivity

Dual-frequency metal detectors typically offer high sensitivity to ferrous, non-ferrous, and stainless steel contaminants.

Construction materials

Units are commonly constructed from stainless steel, suitable for hygienic environments.

• What products are suitable for a dual-frequency metal detector?

Dual-frequency metal detectors are versatile and suitable for a wide range of products, including both wet and dry goods, as they can compensate for product effect.

• Can the direction of product flow be changed?

• What is the purpose of the double ram knock-off system?

• Is calibration required for the checkweigher?

• What maintenance is typically involved with these units?

Metal detectors for food processing remain reliable workhorses in quality control operations. Buyers typically value their durability and consistent contamination detection capability. When purchasing used units, inspecting calibration history and sensitivity settings proves essential. Industry sentiment favours machines with straightforward maintenance records and minimal downtime. Common strengths include robust construction, straightforward operation, and cost-effectiveness compared to new equipment. Prospective buyers should verify functional testing documentation and assess integration compatibility with existing production lines.
