Typical capacity

This class of semi-automatic seamer commonly handles containers from approximately 20g up to 5kg.

Power supply

Units of this type typically operate on a standard single-phase industrial power supply, commonly 230V, 50Hz in the UK.

Throughput

Semi-automatic seamers generally offer a throughput rate dependent on operator efficiency, typically ranging from 5 to 15 containers per minute.

Container materials

Universal seamers are designed to work with tinplate, cardboard, and plastic containers, requiring appropriate tooling changes.

Footprint

For this class of equipment, the footprint is relatively compact, suitable for smaller production areas or workshops.

Changeover time

Changing between different container sizes or materials typically requires manual adjustment and tooling replacement, which can take 15-30 minutes.

• What types of lids can this machine seal?

This type of universal seamer is designed to seal various lid types, including standard round lids for tinplate, cardboard, and plastic containers. Specific lid profiles should be confirmed with the seller.

• Is specialist training required to operate this seamer?

• How difficult is it to change tooling for different container sizes?

• What maintenance is typically required for a used seamer?

• Can this machine be integrated into an automated line?

Used sealing machines are generally valued for their durability and long operational life. Buyers typically prioritize machines with clear maintenance histories and minimal wear on sealing components. Key considerations include film compatibility, seal quality consistency, and ease of adjustment. Reputable models tend to retain functionality well across multiple applications. Industry sentiment suggests these machines offer strong value when sourced from reliable vendors, though operators should verify calibration settings and test seal integrity before full production use.
